ARATHI RAMACHANDRAN
I am a mother, wife, student, research scientist, and daughter
I was born in Fort Collins, Colorado at the foothill of the rockies to two idealistic graduate students at Colorado State University. I primarily grew up in Sugar Land, TX where I attended elementary school, middle school, and high school. My holidays were spent with my parents in India with my extended family or on road trips around the American National Parks. My being and spirit is American, but my pride and traditions are rooted in India. I am proud of both of these roots, I have lived in France, United Kingdom, and South Korea as well. I have a fondness for all these countries. My deepest identity is as a citizen of this beautiful, blue, lush planet, we call Earth.
Professionally, I work as a researcher under Professor Vivek Dabade at Indian Institute of Sciences in the Aerospace Department, I graduated from Clements High School, have a B.S from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Materials Science and Engineering and a Ph.D in Materials Science & Metallurgy from Cambridge University.
I hope to create sustainable community, brainstorm with you innovative solutions to ecological problems our society faces, increase harmony around me and become a better person with you.
